Become a Guardian Family!

Every breeder must decide how to thoughtfully grow and sustain their program.

At Mountain View Goldens, we believe every dog deserves a loving home from the very beginning. That’s why we created our Guardian Family Program—an amazing opportunity to welcome a stunning Golden Retriever into your family, while helping us continue our breeding mission. Since we do not use kennels, we rely on carefully selected, trustworthy families to raise our future breeding dogs in a home environment full of love.

Most Guardian Families receive their puppy at 8 weeks of age. As a Guardian Family, you’ll receive one of the first two picks of the litter, and the adoption fee is signifintaley reduced to only $1000. In exchange, Mountain View Goldens retains breeding rights for up to four litters under the Guardian Contract.

When your female is ready to have her puppies, she will return to us for approximately seven to eight weeks. During that time, you’re more than welcome to visit and watch the puppies grow! As a thank-you, we provide a financial gift for each litter, starting at $500 with each successful breeding.

To participate, Guardian Families must complete an application and live within about 2 hours of Post Falls, Idaho. As a Guardian, you’ll be responsible for your dog’s day-to-day care—including vet visits, vaccinations, socialization, a healthy diet, regular exercise, and of course, plenty of love. Mountain View Goldens will cover all costs related to health testing and breeding.

If a dog does not pass her health evaluations, she will be spayed at our expense and retired from the program. Once her breeding career is complete, she will be spayed and remain with you to enjoy the rest of her life as your beloved pet.

Our Guardian Homes are a cherished part of the Mountain View Goldens family. If you're interested in this special opportunity, we’d love to chat with you. We’re currently accepting applications for future female puppies!
